Wheaton College professor buys in West Chicago

Medium 4c7cd5793d6bc764ea62601ee22449c0 Javier and Marcela Comboni bought a three-bedroom, three-bath home at 1055 Knollwood Lane in West Chicago from Doretta and Robert Valenta for $340,000 on July 13.

The Valentas paid $59,900 for the property in March 1990. The 3,436-square-foot home in the Forest Trails subdivision was built in 1991.

Mr. Comboni is a professor of political economy at Wheaton College. Previously, he worked in Bolivia as a minister of finance, was a member of the board of governors for the Central Bank of Bolivia and was a representative of Bolivia to the Initiative of the Americas.

He is a graduate of Universidad Catolica Boliviana La Paz in Bolivia. He has an M.A. in political economy and a Ph.D. in economics from Boston University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 150 sales in West Chicago in 2008, with a median price of $161,500.
