Thoracic surgeon-professor sells 3BD home in Wood Dale

Medium 62b8cf82ba88bc6aa61bf38b28b94836 Michael J. Da Valle and Rita A. Da Valle sold a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 343 S. Edgewood Ave. in Wood Dale to Jay N. Zelman and Melissa K. Zelman for $250,000 on Dec. 6.

The 2,100-square-foot house, built in 1972, is in White Oak. It is located in the Woodside subdivision.

Michael Da Valle is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon and chief of cardiac surgery at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. He is also a physician at Cardiac Surgery Associates Downers Grove Clinic and faculty in the thoracic and cardiovascular surgery department and the department of surgery at Loyola University Medical Center.

He earned his B.S. from Loyola University of Chicago and his M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 1978. He completed his residency at New York University and Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.

Jay Zelman is a sales manager at Smith Medical Partners, a national distributor of specialty pharmaceuticals. Previously, he was a juvenile probation officer in DuPage County.

He received his B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
