Lawyers buys 3BD condo in Ukrainian Village

David L. Solow and Brooke K. Hillman bought a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo at 1071 N. Hermitage Ave. in the Ukrainian Village from John N. Wanke and Erin E. Hannahan for $545,500 on Nov. 20.

Wanke and Hannahan bought Unit #1 for $527,500 in March 2007.

Mr. Solow is an associate at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg, a law firm in Chicago. He is a member of the firm’s corporate and securities practice group. He also serves on the board of advisors for the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.

He has served as an executive assistant to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.

Ms. Hillman also worked for Madigan as an executive assistant before joining Gunther Group, a Chicago-based legal recruiter.

She began her career in New York City as a commercial litigator at a small firm before moving on to Pryor, Cashman, Sherman & Flynn, where she practiced real estate law. She continued her real estate practice in Chicago with D’Ancona & Pflaum.

Mr. Wanke works as a regional marketing manager for Microsoft. Prior to that, he served as the Central Region depth marketing manager. He started working for Microsoft in 2003 as a business sales specialist.

Before he joined Microsoft, he worked as a district manager at Automatic Data Processing.

Wanke received his marketing degree from Miami University.

There were 193 sales in Chicago in 2008 with median sales price of $434,000.
