S. C. Johnson & Son CEO sells Gold Coast condo

Medium ad656ee482d0e7712142ca6c4f014f83 H. Fisk Johnson sold a two-bedroom condo at 161 E. Chicago Ave. in the Gold Coast to First Midwest Cap. Partners, LLC, for $1.075 million on Jan. 9.

Unit #51B is in the Olympia Center condominium building, which was built in 1987 has 63 floors.

Johnson is the fifth generation of his family to lead S.C. Johnson & Son. Currently, he is the chief executive officer and chairman of the board for the company.

He first joined the company as a marketing associate and held a series of positions with increasing responsibility until he became a chairman in Oct. 2000. Previously, he served as director of Energizer Holdings and Johnson Outdoors as well as trustee of the Chi Psi National Education Trust.

He has also served as a member of the President's Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiation.

Johnson received his B.A. in chemistry and physics, M.S. in physics, M.B.A. and Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University.

Sales at Olympia Center were unchanged from 2006-2007. The median sales price jumped 42.9 percent during that same time period.

There were 1,125 condo sales in the Gold Coast in 2008, with a median sales price of $355,000.
