Investment lawyer buys in Ukrainian Village

Medium 71e1b4a97e5f3df47b5fe44a373f65ae Benjamin M. Harell and Shannon Travis bought a condo at 2217 W. Augusta Blvd. in the Ukrainian Village from Janelle and Douglas Watanabe for $420,000 on April 15.

The Watanabes paid $411,000 for Unit #1 in Jan. 2005. The development at 2217 W. Augusta Blvd. was constructed in 2006.

Mr. Harell is an associate in the investment management practice group at Kirkland & Ellis, LLP. He focuses his practice on the representation of investment advisers, private investment funds, investment companies, broker-dealers and futures commission merchants. Prior to that, he served as PILI Fellow at DePaul University College of Law Immigration and Asylum Clinic.

He earned his J.D from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. in psychology from Washington University.

Ms. Watanabe has been as account manager for Health magazine and Time, Inc. Prior to that she held the same position at Bauer Publishing, served as a media planner at Cramer-Krasselt and as an assistant media planner at MPG.

There were 126 condo sales in the Ukrainian Village in 2008, with a median sales price of $402,750.
