Michele Goodwin and Gregory Shaffer sold a five-bedroom, four-bath home at 427 W. Roslyn Place in Lincoln Park to Brian Maddox for $1.3 million on April 29.
Goodwin and Shaffer paid $1,112,500 for the property in Sept. 2003. The 3,630-square-foot house was built in 1902 in the Park West subdivision.
Ms. Goodwin is a professor in law at the University of Minnesota. Before that, she served as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago Law School and was a professor of law at the DePaul College of Law, where she founded the Center for the Study of Race and Bioethics. Prior to law teaching, she was a Gilder-Lehrman post-doctoral fellow at Yale University and was a visiting scholar at the Center for Law & Society at the University of California Law School.
She earned her B.A. and LL.M. from the University of Wisconsin and her J.D. from Boston College Law School.
There were 847 home sales in Lincoln Park in 2008, with a median sales price of $435,000.
