Helmut and Annelore Endres have listed for sale a three-bedroom, two-bath condo at 1422 N. La Salle St. in Old Town for $849,000.

The Endreses paid $797,000 for Unit #203 in March 2008. Scott Zelkin of @properties is the agent for the listing.

Mr. Endres is chief technical officer and vice president of powertrain engineering at Navistar, a manufacturer of brand commercial trucks and provider of truck and diesel engine parts and services headquartered in Warrenville. Prior to joining the company, he was an executive director of powertrain development for the Volkswagen brand at Volkswagen AG in Germany, was a powertrain development director for Audi and was director of gasoline engines for Volkswagen brands. He also worked at the global engine development consultancy FEV Engine Technology.

He received a degree in engineering from RWTH Aachen in Germany. He also holds a Ph.D. in engineering.

Sales at 1422 N. La Salle St. were up 50 percent from 2007-08, while the median sales price was up 79.8 percent.

There were 181 condo sales in Old Town in 2008, with a median price of $285,000.
