Dr. Mohamed Fayad and Marilia Montero Fayad bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 2838 N. Paulina St. in Lake View from Barclay and Stephanie Ferguson for $1.44 million on July 23.

The Fergusons paid $1.499 million for the property in June 2005. The 2,600-square-foot house was built in 2006.

Dr. Fayad practices dental surgery at Endodontics Limited. Previously, he served as the director of endodontic research and was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois–Chicago College of Dentistry.

He received his degree in dental surgery from the Cairo University College of Dentistry. He obtained his M.B.A. in oral sciences and his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo.

Mr. Ferguson is vice president of finance at Health Net Inc. and at Blue Shield of California. Prior to that, he was vice president of finance and a director at WellPoint Inc.

He received his B.S. in psychology from Syracuse University and obtained an M.B.A. in business administration from the University of Miami School of Business.

There were 1,062 sales in Lake View in 2008, with a median sales price of $337,500.
