Rise Against frontman buys in Arlington Heights

Timothy J. McIlrath and Erin A. Fleming bought a 1.5-bath home at 725 N. Highland Ave. in Arlington Heights from Michael and Angie Dufner for $565,000 on Aug. 13.

The Dufners paid $640,000 for the property in May 2007. The 2,951-square-foot house, which was built in 1910, is in the Central Arlington Heights neighborhood.

McIlrath is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and lyricist for Rise Against, a punk rock band from Chicago. The band's last two albums, The Sufferer & the Witness and Appeal to Reason have both gone platinum. Appeal to Reason reached No. 3 on the U.S. charts and No. 1 on the Canadian charts.

There were 767 sales in Arlington Heights in 2008, with a median sales price of $273,500.
