Chief philanthropy officer sells 2BD in Evanston

Rebecca J. Girvin-Argon and Ahmet Argon sold a two-bedroom, two-bath home at 1817 Grant St. in Evanston to Anna and William Packer for $400,000 on Oct. 13.

The 1,051-square-foot house in the North Evanston neighborhood was built in 1925.

Ms. Girvin-Argon serves as the chief philanthropy officer of the Nature Conservancy. Before that, she served as the organization's director of principal and major gifts. Prior to joining the Nature Conservancy in 2001, she was the vice president for external affairs at the Chicago Botanic Garden, executive director of the Museum Center Foundation and director of annual programs at the Art Institute of Chicago.

She earned her B.A. in English and German from Indiana University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 688 home sales in Evanston during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $299,000.
