Dr. James K. Liu and Helen Hurh Liu sold a 2.5-bath home at 2537 Laurel Lane in Wilmette to Ashish and Ritu Jain for $1.09 million on Oct. 15.

The Lius paid $1.402 million for the 2,048-square-foot house in June 2007. It was built in 1957 in the South Central Wilmette neighborhood.

Dr. Liu has been a neurological surgeon in Portland, Ore. He is affiliated with Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, Lake Forest Hospital, Highland Park Hospital, Evanston Hospital, CMC Pineville and Glenbrook Hospital.

He received his medical degree from New York Medical College (2000). He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine and his fellowship in surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 266 home sales in Wilmette during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $550,000.
