Archaeology professor sells Rogers Park 2BD

Scott and Susan Demel sold a two-bedroom, two-bath home at 2023 W. Estes Ave. in Rogers Park to Anna and John Palumbo for $390,000 on Oct. 15.

The Demels paid $365,000 for the property in July 2004. The 2,338-square-foot house was built in 1905.

Mr. Demel is an assistant professor of archaeology at Northern Michigan University. He worked at the Field Museum in Chicago for eight years, where he served as the head of collections for the department of anthropology. He also taught courses in archaeology at DePaul University.

He holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 383 home sales in Rogers Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $184,250.
