Dr. Marcello Cherchi and Joanna Weinstein bought a four-bedroom, four-bath home at 6828 Cherry Ave. in Lincolnwood from Countrywide Bank for $720,000 on Oct. 20.

Countrywide Bank foreclosed on the property in April 2009. The 968-square-foot house in the East Lincolnwood neighborhood was built in 1951.

Dr. Cherchi is a physician at Chicago Dizziness and Hearing and an assistant professor of neurology at Northwestern University.

He earned his Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Chicago and his M.D. from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He trained in internal medicine and in general neurology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 143 home sales in Lincolnwood during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $335,000.
