Cavaglia works for UBS Asset Management in Chicago as a managing director and head of quantitative strategies. He joined the company in 1998. Previously, he was an investment manager at PanAgora Asset Management, he taught at the City University Business School in London for two years and he was an economist at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

He received his bachelor's in commerce from McGill University in 1982, his M.B.A. from the University of California-Berkeley in 1983 and his Ph.D. in international finance and economics from the University of Chicago in 1990.

He sold a two-bedroom condo at 632 W. Wrightwood in Lincoln Park in Oct. 2006.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 887 condo sales in Lake View during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $298,500.
