Cubs' Ryan Dempster asking $1.899M on N. Wayne

Medium a3722c06ec73544a50a25c3c3807a66d Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster and Rebecca, have listed for sale their five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 3836 N. Wayne Ave. in Wrigleyville for $1.899 million.

The Dempsters paid $1.715 million for the 5,300-square-foot home in Jan. 2006. Michael Lavorato of d'aprile realty, inc. is the listing agent for the property.

Dempster has been with the Cubs as both a starting pitcher and a reliever, earning All-Star nods in 2007 and 2008. He helped anchor the Cubs' starting rotation as the club reached the post-season each of those years, and he won a career-high 17 games in 2008 after switching from the bullpen to the starting rotation. He joined the Cubs as a reliever in 2004 and tallied 85 saves from 2005-2007 before making the switch.

He made his debut with the Florida Marlins in 1998 and finished 15-12 as a starter with the club in 2001, the best of his more than five seasons in Miami. He also spent the 2003 season with the Cincinnati Reds before arriving in Chicago. Dempster is originally from British Columbia. He signed a four-year deal worth a reported $52 million with the Cubs following the 2008 season.
