DePaul professors buy 5BD home in Evanston

Medium b64a1303bfc122ed1a49baa44c3c96fa Kari Ragnarsson and Bridget E. Tenner bought a five-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 1139 Judson Ave. in Evanston from James and Cynthia Davin for $469,000 on Dec. 15.

The Davins paid $670,000 for the property in March 2007. The 1,567-square-foot house was built in 1904 in the Southeast Evanston neighborhood.

Ragnarsson is a visiting assistant professor of mathematical sciences at DePaul University and a research affiliate at the Mathematics Institute at Reykjavik University. He has been a visiting assistant professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago and Northwestern University.

He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his B.S. in mathematics and computational track from the University of Iceland.

Tenner is an assistant professor of mathematics at DePaul University. She has been a research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned her Ph.D. in mathematics.

She also holds an A.M. in mathematics from Harvard University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 713 home sales in Evanston during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $285,000.
