DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell spends $3.075M in Lincoln Park

Medium fb6843c5fc856c1f1cc09ea289975394 Oliver Purnell bought a five-bedroom, five-bath home at 2724 N. Mildred Ave. in Lincoln Park from 2724 Mildred LLC for $3.075 million on Aug. 27.

The home was built in 2007 in the Wrightwood Neighbors subdivision.

Purnell is the head coach of the DePaul Blue Demons basketball team. He signed a seven-year deal with the university in April of this year.

Prior to coming to DePaul, he was the head coach of the Clemson Tigers. In seven years with the Tigers he guided the team to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and a 138-90 record.

He began his coaching career at Radford before moving on to Old Dominion and Dayton. He has been named the coach of the year by the Big South Conference (1991), the Atlantic Ten (1998) and the Colonial Athletic Association (1993).

Purnell played collegiate basketball at Old Dominion. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the sixth round of the 1975 NBA Draft.
