Cindy S. Ahn and Jonathan C. Evans bought a five-bedroom, four-bath home at 3452 N. Hoyne Ave. in Roscoe Village from Edward M. McCarthy and Mary M. Foley for $1.2 million on July 14.

McCarthy and Foley paid $550,000 for the property in Aug. 2006. The 3,475-square-foot house was built in 2007.

Ahn is a partner at Global IP Law Group, where she focuses on intellectual property through sales, licensing and litigation. Prior to that, she served as vice president and general counsel for the molecular diagnostic company, Third Wave Technologies Inc. Earlier, she was an attorney with the law firms Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington, D.C. and Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

She received her B.S. in biology with a minor in English literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 132 home sales in Roscoe Village during the last 12 months, with a median sales price of $425,000.
