Catherine and Matthew Sampsell bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 352 Rye Road in Mundelein from Roman and Sylwia Chodnicki for $320,000 on Oct. 16.

The Chodnickis paid $225,000 for the property in Nov. 2004. The 2,564-square-foot home was built in 1959 in the Mundelein North neighborhood.

Ms. Sampsell has been a visiting assistant professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Service for Qatar at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

She previously was an assistant professor of history at United Arab Emirates University. Prior to that, she held the same role at Bradley University in Peoria. She also held faculty positions at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, and the Community Colleges of Baltimore County.

She has a B.A. in history from Western Maryland College, a J.D. from the University of Baltimore Law School and a Ph.D. from Georgetown University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 299 home sales in Mundelein during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $184,750.
