Dick A. Stoken bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 59 Lakewood Place in Highland Park from Thomas I. Altholz and Suellen R. Altholz for $1.535 million on Oct. 30.

The 3,727-square-foot house was built in 1956 in the Deere park subdivision.

Stoken is a principal trader at Strategic Investments LLC, a commodity trading adviser.

Previous to that, he was a founding partner in the commodity firm Lind-Waldock. Additionally, he authored four books entitled, Cycles, Strategic Investment Timing, The Great Cycle and The Great Game of Politics.

He received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Business School in 1959.

Mr. Altholz has been director at Langer Biomechanics Group Inc. He was appointed in this position in 2007.

Previously, he was president, owner and chief executive officer of TIA Solutions and as president and owner of Inlander Steindler Paper Co. Earlier, he served on boards of several companies, including Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing, Scott Paper and Affiliated Paper Cos.

He received his B.A. in economics from Ripon College in Wisconsin.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 461 home sales in Highland Park during the last 12 months, with a median sales price of $577,000.
