Former Bears QB Brian Griese deals for $2.125M in Glencoe

Medium 16c1cfdda91c1001f3a4d5d5864dfa10 Former Chicago Bears quarterback Brian Griese and his wife, Brook, sold their 3,342-square-foot home at 210 Hazel Ave. in Glencoe for $2.125 million to John Cimaroli and Elizabeth Rizza on July 27.

The Grieses paid $2.425 million for the property in July 2006. The home was built in 1925.

Griese, 34, spent two seasons in Chicago in 2006 and 2007, appearing in 13 total games and earning six starts with the club. After appearing largely as a backup during the team's Super Bowl run in 2006, he threw for 1,803 yards and 10 touchdowns the following year as the Bears finished 7-9 and finished fourth in the NFC North. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2008, and appeared in five games in Tampa before he was released by the club in July 2009 and subsequently retired.

He currently works for ESPN as a football commentator.

Prior to joining the Bears, Griese spent more than four seasons with the Denver Broncos, where he earned a 2000 Pro Bowl selection and threw for a career-high 3,214 yards during the 2002 season. After he was released by the club following the 2002 season, he played a season with the Miami Dolphins and two with the Buccaneers before signing a five-year deal with the Bears in 2006.

Griese won a share of the national championship with Michigan in 1997, leading the Wolverines to an undefeated season and a win over Washington State in the Rose Bowl. He posted a 17-5 career mark as a starter at Michigan.

He is the son of former Super Bowl champion and Miami Dolphins quarterback Bob Griese.

Cimaroli is an analyst with Chicago hedge fund firm Rail Splitter Capital. He's also worked for T. Rowe Price and William Blair and Co.

He earned his bachelor's from Wake Forest and attended the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 108 home sales in Glencoe in 2008, with a median sales price of $827,500.
